Halsey is a mother! The 26-year-old gave birth to her first child with partner, Alev Aydin, on July 14. The singer shared the happy news with fans on Instagram on Monday, including two snapshots of their little one: Ender Ridley Aydin.

“Gratitude,” Halsey wrote with their first family photo. “For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love.”

Halsey, who uses the pronouns she and she, did not specify gender in Ender’s birth announcement. But they did share an intimate breastfeeding moment.

Halsey surprised fans in January when she announced she was pregnant. It was also the first confirmation that she was in a relationship with Aydin, a screenwriter who is working on a biopic about her life.

“Judgment started from the beginning,” they recently told seduce. “Alev and I have been really good friends for four years. And when the stars aligned, our relationship became romantic and it was pretty obvious that he and I were both saying, ‘Oh my gosh! You are the person I am should start a family.’ A lot of people had an opinion about that.”

Halsey added: “Nobody knew I was dating anyone… As if people were entitled to an update like ‘I met someone, we’re dating, it’s getting serious, they moved in, we’ like we’re planning a child, we’re having a baby, we’ve had a baby, this is the gender…’ I signed up to give my whole life away, not my loved ones.”

However, Halsey has been open about many aspects of her life, including: reproductive health challenges. They had a miscarriage in 2015 and had multiple operations to treat in the years that followed endometriosis, in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside it. The painful condition can lead to infertility.

“This is where I reach this out of control life, and I can’t do the only thing I was biologically put on this earth for,” she said. the guard in 2019. “Then I have to go on stage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It’s demoralizing.”

The singer, who celebrates “pregnant and postpartum bodies” on her new album cover, hoped that one day she would have a child.

“[Motherhood’s] looks like something that’s going to happen for me,” they shared. “That’s a miracle.”
