#HBDAjayDevgn Om Raut: Ajay Devgn Became The Elder Brother I Never Had – Times Of India – Tech Kashif

As Ajay Devgn leaps into his next year today, celebrating his birthday with his loved ones, Bombay Times spoke to director Om Raut, who recently got the Filmfare nod for the Best Director for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The history-led drama was toplined by Ajay, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan. On Ajay’s birthday today, the filmmaker, currently shooting for Adipurush with Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh, became rather emotional. Om says, “I remember the first time I met Ajay Devgn sir for the narration of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The way he made me feel extremely comfortable on our very first meeting speaks volumes about him, and the eventual relationship that blossomed from that point. He became the elder brother I never had. He stood by me like a rock – he supported my dream not just as an actor but also as a producer who trusted my ability and the story that I was keen to narrate. There’s a reason he is called ‘Boss’. He is a man with tremendous intensity, integrity and passion for cinema. The world knows him as an actor and a filmmaker but for me, he is beyond that. He is a great human being that I met in the early days of my career. There is so much to learn from him in life and I am so glad I had the privilege to work with this powerhouse. It was my first Hindi film, and to be a part of a successful film is something that every artiste and every director wants. Thanks to Ajay sir, I had an opportunity to narrate a story the way I saw fit, and the public showed acceptance for it. It opened more doors for me. On the occasion of his birthday, I just pray that all his wishes come true, I want to see him soaring higher and higher.”
