Panic Series: How far would you go to escape the circumstances you were born in? In Panic, a new Amazon Prime Video series, high school seniors risk their lives every year to compete in a game which they believe is the only ticket out of their small town in Texas. The one-hour drama series, written and created by Lauren Oliver and based on her bestselling novel, promises some high octane action as these seniors spend their summer battling it out to fight for a better life.
But this year, the stakes are higher, the challenges are deadlier and there’s a $50,000 prize up for grabs. The players will come face to face with their deepest, darkest fears as they put their bravest foot forward in a game where literally anything can happen. From facing roaring fires and a tiger on the prowl to players even being buried alive – this is a game not for the faint of heart. Each player has a reason to win, and each one is willing to do whatever it takes. The only question remains – how far are they willing to go?
With a premise that isn’t far removed from the Hunger Games trilogy, the young players navigate betrayal, fear, friendship and sparks of young love as the challenges get harder and the games get rougher. Every player in this game has their own story, and their own anxieties and secrets. For many characters in this series they would never consider themselves to be fearless. But when they find something, someone to fight for, they will discover they are braver than they ever thought. As they say in the trailer, “You got to know what to be afraid of, when to be afraid of it and when to know the difference.”
The show brings together a cast of rising stars and newbies including Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Camron Jones, Ray Nicholson and Enrique Murciano whose stellar performances make it a nail biting watch. So get that popcorn ready, settle down and live vicariously through the lives of these teens risking their lives for the ultimate cash prize. All 10 episodes premiere on Amazon Prime Video on the 28th of May, stay tuned!
