When Sadie Sink calls me from…
Hawkins, Indiana Atlanta on a recent summer afternoon, it’s immediately clear what she’s up to. “We are currently still in production,” confirms the 19-year-old of the long-awaited Strange things season four. “There’s really not much I can say after everything that’s happened in season three, but you see Max in a completely different place.” Whether that means we’ll see Max geographically or mentally (or maybe both) in a different place, we don’t know. But two years ago ST3 launched, Sink is as excited as anyone to “get it out there for everyone to see”. (TBD on When That Might Be….)
Meanwhile, you can watch Sink in another period thriller on Netflix: The Three-Part Movie Event Fear Street Trilogy. First set in 1994, the films are based on RL Stine’s best-selling horror series and focus on a group of teenagers who discover that the events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected. In part two, set in 1978, Sink stars as Vicki, a very distant, misunderstood camper. Part three, in which Sink can also be seen, will appear on July 16.
“The idea of shooting the films back to back and seeing them in one summer was really interesting and exciting to me,” says Sink. And while you’d assume she’s a big fan of the scary movie/TV series genre, the actor tells me that’s not necessarily the case. “Honestly, I don’t like watching horror movies or scary TV shows, but I love be a part of them and make them,” she says glamour. “I just love doing the stunt work and being covered in blood. It’s so exciting for me.”
Sink is also a fan of the retro styles, which she got to experience fully thanks to the 80s set Strange things and now fear street. “I like the 70s fashion a bit more than the 80s fashion,” she says, “but I find that when I play these roles, I’m drawn to the period-appropriate fashion when I shop for my personal life, it definitely affects how my closet looks.”
Speaking of her closet, it was the perfect opportunity to move on to glamourthe latest edition of Your favorite’s favorites, where we let Sink educate us about the items that mean the most to her. From sneakers to skincare, there’s something for everyone.
The most comfortable sweatshirt I can’t stop wearing
I live in this Acne Studios Sweatshirt that’s a gray cotton sweater. It gets a little too hot outside to really wear out, but it’s perfect for indoors. I’ve worn it out at this point.

My favorite item in my closet
I have a lot of favorites, but I wear white sneakers with pretty much everything. My current favorite pair are these Stella McCartney Stan Smiths. They are great, and I wear them with everything. At this point I will have to learn to wear heels again. I may refuse to wear heels from now on.

My red carpet look I love the most
My first time going to the Golden Globes, I wore a habit Miu Miu dress. It was my first major awards ceremony, so it meant a lot to me. I had never worn so much jewelry in my life, so I really felt like a princess that night. It was also just so special because that was the year everyone wore black in recognition of the Time is up movement, so it was a really fun way to contribute and make a fashion statement while also being one of my favorite looks.
My favorite hair softening shampoo and conditioner
I just switched to Fable & Mane shampoo and conditioner, which smells so good and keeps my hair really smooth. I was maybe only twice a week, which I think is also kind of important. These are my favorite products to use. It keeps my hair manageable and calms any frizz I have which is a constant battle here in Atlanta.

The skin care products I can’t live without
I’m a skincare junkie so I’m constantly swapping products and trying new things, but there are three staples in my routine, starting with True Botanicals Vitamin C Booster Powder, which you simply mix with water or your serum. I apply that on my face in the morning and I feel like I see immediate results in terms of the luminosity of my skin. The serum I mix it with is the Youth Dew Serum by May Lindstrom. And then I love the Blue Cocoon facial oil balm, which is also from May Lindstrom. I started using The products of May Lindstrom last winter because it helps with dehydration. It works really well for my skin and feels and smells incredible.
The sunscreens I swear by
Every time I’m at the beach, pool, or lake, I’m always in the water, acting like a five-year-old. I’m such a water bug. I bring goggles because I’m that 19-year-old in the pool, with goggles on, asking people if they want to race and have a handstand competition. I always wear sunscreen, SPF30 and above. I really love Sun Bum or Beauty counter. They have really good sunscreens.

My favorite snack on set
I love apples, especially Fuji apples! That’s what I’ll have on set. Or vegetables and hummus. I’m not really a big chip person.
What I’m reading right now
In my book club we read shine by Raven Leilani, which I’m almost done with, and I like it. It’s good beach reading, even though I’m not on the beach; I just got into my trailer, but it’s fun. And I’m going to reread Normal people because I think it’s the perfect summer book.

The last movie I loved
I looked Luca about two nights ago and thought it was so beautiful, so cute. I’m a sucker for a good Pixar movie. Me and my brother and sister always looked at them together. I recently watched too Portrait of a burning lady, which was really beautiful. I would like to make a period piece like this one day. I conquered the 70s and the 80s and I think the 1600s for the third too fear street film, but I would love to make another period piece like this.
The TV programs that give me the most comfort
I have a lot of comfort TV shows that I love. When I get home from the set, this is the first thing I put on. I love Modern family or Schitt’s Creek. Recently I’ve been watching again The return with Lisa Kudrow, which was a great decision because it is so good. She’s so funny.
